A:,pointrents At n Called :Sooting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissloners, Chamber at the City Flail, Iaducah, Kentucky, at 11:00 A. !d. .on January 5, 1946, Mayor Peak presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: ,Commissioners Abell, Allen, Carlick, Johnston and Mayor Peak (5). Mayor Peak stated the meeting was called for the purpose of appointing the Mayor Protem and for transacting any other business that may property come before the meeting. / b:ayor Peak offered the following motion: I move that Stuart Johnston be appointed to act as Mayor Protem for the City of Paducah during the years 1948 and 1949 and as such to be vested with all of the powers and to perform all of tIe duties of the Mayor during his absence from the city or his inability to attend to the duties of the office. Adopted on call of the Poll, Yeas, Commissioners Abell, Allen, Carlick, Johnston and idayor Peak (5). Ra:•rlings, renbnrn of the Board of Equalization of the City of Paducah for the year 1948, which oath was this day administered by I'on. Cone Peak, Yayor of the City of Paducah. Adopted on call of t!:e Roll, Yers, Connissioners Abell, Allen, Carlick, Johnston and isyor Peak (5). Comrissioner Johnston offered the follorrint• notion: I move that the Board of Commissioners receive and file the letter of C.C.Crain dated January 3, 1948, in which he advises that !co is u=;lling to serve as a member of the Board of Equalization for the year 19h8; that the Board also receive and file the letter of H. B. Voor dated January 5, 190, in i.1ch he advises that he cannot accept the position as a number of the Board of Equalization by reason of the fact that he holds another o"fice with the City of Paducah; that Charles i:. Rawlings and i'tade Parton be anoeinted as members of said board in the place and stead of the said C.C.Crain and F.P.Voor, and that the members of _aid board as no,,; ccnstiuuted be directed to meet at the City Nall after taking the oath of o.^fice as regvired by law, and to proceed with equalizing assessments on all real and personal prcperty in accordanceo-Ith the provisions of the law, and Us members of said board shall rece.lve rcr their services the compensation ^ixed by ordinance.
