HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 21, Page 153, November 11, 1947No. 153 Proceedin6s of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah November 11, 1947 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Commissioners' Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on Nov. 11, 1947, Mayor Seaton presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Friedlander, Johnston and Mayor Seaton (3). Commissioners Sims and Williams absent (2). 'j Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read. Lease H R M Motofa Commissioner Friedlander offered motion that the lease from the City of Paducah Amended N Kentucky, to Woodrow Hook and Harry Mathis dated March 27th, 1947, under which lease the City has rented to the said Hook and Mathis the property at 209 South Third IIStreet for a term of nine (9) months beginning on April let, 1947, be amended, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute for the City of Paducah an endorsement on said lease which shall read as follows: "By agreement of the parties to the within lease, the parties of the second part may erect on the property described in said lease a building suitable for use as a shelter for their employees upon the condition that at the time of the termination of this lease the City of Paducah may, at its option either require the parties of the second part to remove said building from the pro- perty or permit the same to remain thereon, in which latter event the title shall pass to and vest in the city. Except as provided in this endorsement, all of the terms and conditions contained in the within lease it shall remain and continue in full force and effect." �I In Testimony '!!hereof, the parties hereto have subscribed their names this the day of November, 1947. Bids on Allar Commissioner Johnston offered motion that the letter of the City Manager dated prop. 3rd & Madison � November 10, 1947, together with the bids for the land and building located at Third and Madison Streets referred to in said letter, being the bids of Fred K. Madrey, i Ozzie Vandergriff, Gus Harris and J.W.Anderson, be received and filed, and that the Board of Commissioners accept the recommendation of the city Manager by rejecting each j! and all of said bids. Folicy>1 file and approve the public liability insurance policy issued by the Coal Operators Casualty Company of Greensburg, Penn. in the name of Douglas Rose and/or City of Paducah, Kentucky, covering work to be done b:; Douglas Rose for a period of one year from September 29, 1947; which insurance is required under the provisions of an ordinance adopted on September 24, 1946. Bids on Mayor Seaton offered motion that the Eoard of Commissioners receive Old Fire Station 1Cth and file the letter of Mr. Victor C. Victor Hobday, in which he recommends the sale of property on South Third i Street now leased to H & M Motors be received and filed.
