Proceedings of Board of CORmissionern City of Paducah August :G.
At a call meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the
Commissioners' Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 11 o'clock A.M. on the
16th day of August, 1938, Mayor 'Washburn presided and upon call of the roll the follow-
ing answered to their names: Commissioners Hank, Melton, Pulliam, Stubblefield and
1:ayor -1ashburn (5).
Mayor L'ashburn stated reason for call, to -wit: For the
purpose of allowing the payroll for the first one-half of August, 1938, and transact
any other business that may come properly before the meeting.
Commissioner Hank offered motion that the payroll for the

Treasurer be authorized to pay same by checks on the General Fund. Adopted on can

Nelson, Commissioner Melton offered motion that the chock of $4000

Company bid deposited r.1th the city of Paducah by Nelson, Browning & Company when they bid for the
check re-
turned purchase of $200,000 of City of Paducah bonds, be returned to said bidder as complete
evidence of the termination of said bid and in accordance with the request of said
bidder, and that said bidder by reason thereof be released and discharged from further
obligation because of its bid. Adopted on call of the roll: Yoas; Commissioners
Hank, Melton, Pulliam, Stubblefield and Mayor ]'Washburn (5).

check that the completed proposal of Stein Eros. & Boyce, together with their good faith
deposited
check of ^;4000 submitted with their bid for the purchase of the $200,000 City of
!I Paducah bonds be received, and that said check be held by the City Treasurer pending
further proceedings for the execution and delivery of said bonds. Adopted on call
of the roll: Yens; Commissioners Hank, Yelton, Pulliam and Stubblefield (4). Nays;
