Proceedings of Board of Commiacionors City of Paducah August 8, 1938
At a regular meeting of the board of commissioners held in the
Commissioners' Chamber at the City Nall, Paducah, Kentucky, it appearing that the Mayor
and Mayor pro tem are both absent from the city of Paducah, and at the convening of the
board of conmissionors in regular session at 2 P.M. on Monday, August 8, 1938, Com-
missioners I.:elton, Pulliam and Stubblefield were present, whereupon Rudy Stewart, Clerk
announced that both the Mayor and Mayor pro tem are absent from the city and that it
was necessary that the members present select by vote one of their members to preside
over the meeting. Thereupon, Commissioner Pulliam placed in nomination Commissioner
Melton to preside over the regular meeting on this date. The vote being put on said
nomination those voting in favor thereof were Commissioners Melton, Pulliam and
Stubblefield, whereupon Commissioner Melton assumed the chair and presided over said
meeting.
Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read.
Commissioner Pulliam offered motion that the financial report of
Paducah
Dater Pdks. the Paducah Water Works for the month of June, 1938 be received and filed. Adopted
Juno report
on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Melton, Pulliam and Stubblefield (3).
Commissioner Melton offered the following motion: The Board of
Hart -Lock-
wood award- Education of Paducah, Kentucky having transmitted to the Board of Commissioners of

for hard- said city, a resolution reciting that they have received bids for furnishing hardware
were at
Tilghman for Tilghman High School Addition and a Trades building at the price of $1,514.30,
the same being the lowest and beat bid, and having recommended that the City of Paduca
accept said bid and contract, and award to Hart -Lockwood contract therefor, subject
to the recommendation of the officials of the Federal Emergency Administration of
Public Works,- I now move that pursuant to the resolution of the Board of Education
of the City of Paducah, that said contract be awarded to Hart -Lockwood Company of
Paducah, Kentucky, as the lowest bid on furnishing hardware for Tilghman High School
and a Trades building as per specifications filed at the price of 01,514.30 be approve
and contract be entered into therefor, subject to the recommendations of the officials
of the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works. Adopted on call of the roll,
