At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold In the
Commissioners Chamber at the Cit Iiall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 3:30 o'clock P.M.
i`.ny 7th, 1943, ?,ayor Lackey presided and upon call of the Roll the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Dorian, Johnston, Pulliam, tsagner and
Vayor Lackey (5).
Mayor Lackey stated the meeting visa called for the purpose of
considering the matter of granting a right of entry to the United States Government
to use the Paducah and McCracken County Airport for Wilitary purposes, and the
matter of leasing said property to the Government.
Commissioner Pulliam offered motion that the Mayor be authorized
to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, an Agreement by
the terms of which the United States of America, its officers, engineers, agents
and employees shall be authorized to enter, use and occupy the property of the
Paducah and Y.cCracken County Airport for a period of sixty (60) days, pending
negotiations between the government and the City and County for the consummation
of a satisfactory lease covering said premises, the entry permit to be signed by the
Mayor being the instrument of writing which .is filed herewith and made a part of
this motion. Adopted on call of the Coll, Yoas, Commissioners Dorian, Johnston,
Pulliam, Wagner and Mayor Lackey (5).
Commissioner Wagner offered notion that the Mayor, .in conjunction
with the County Judge of McCracken County, Kentucky, be authorized to enter into
negotiations with the United States of America for the leasing of the Paducah and
McCracken County Airport to the government for military purposes, and to execute,
for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, a formal lease containing terms and
conditions satisfactory to him and to the County Judge. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Dorian, Johnston, Pulliam, Wagner and Mayor Lackey (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
