P.M.. on January 5th, 1943, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the Holl
I,
the following answered to their n::mcs: Commissioners Dorian, Johnston, Pulliam
Plagner and Mayor Lackey (5).
i.!ayor.Lackey stated the purpose of the moeting was to hear charges
qpreferred against W. E. Bryant, Chief of Police.
The testimony of all witnesges was hearad by the Board of Commissioners
and at the conclusion
mayor Lackey offered the Bellowing motion:
�! The Board regrets that counsel for the plaintiff in charges filed against the
rhlef of Police of the City of Paducah failed to file supporting affidavits as to
physical condition of Mrs. Doshie Kinkade, plaintiff, in sufficiency as to warrant
a continuance of said hearing; further that counsel for plaintiff visa not so
disposed as to offer any proof of charges so made; therefore,
q I move that the Board of Commissioners adopt as its judgment upon
charges preferred by Doshie Kinkade against V% E. Bryant, Chief of Police
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the following: -
This cause coming on for trial upon charges filed on December 14th
1942, by Doshie Kinkade against IV. E. Bryant, Chief of ?olice of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, and the said 11. E. Bryant having by agreement waived the
service of said charges upon him and also that provision of the statute
under which said charges must be heard within three days after the same
have been filed with the Board of Commissioners, and having agreed that �
ii a hearing be held on January 5th, 1942 at 2 oIclock P.m., and the said
E. 2 yant being present in person and represented by Counsel, and
the Poard of Commissioners boing sufficiently advised from the affidavits
on file herein and the testimony of witnesses at said hearing, the board
finds that the said 1;1. E. Bryant is not guilty of the violation of rules
15 and IS foverning the conduct of Police of'ficors and it is therefore
ordered and adjudged by the board that said charges be, and the same aro
hereby dismissed. Adopted on pall of thn Boll, Yeas, Commissioners
?urian, Johnston, Pulliam, 'Nagnor and Mayor Lackey (5).
