;.t n call meeting of the Board of Commisaloners held in the
Ci0^i^.4an1Orier9 Chamber at the City 11,911, Paducah, F:cn to ck y, at 11:00 o'clock A.;d. on the
6th day of February, 1942, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the
jfolloviing answered to their names: Commissioners Dorian, Johnston, Pulliam, '.'iaener
�and Mm yor Lackey (5).
Mayor Lnekey stated reason for call, to -wit: For the
purpose of discussing the concrete driveway on the new airport, and to transact any
other business that may come before the meeting.

Commissioner Pulliam offered the following motion:
Z Uridge Staudt - leave, Elbridge Staudt having been granted a leave of absence from the police department of
of Abaonco
the City of Pay?ucnh for the purpose of enlisting for service in the armed forces of
the United States; and,
It appearing from information given Chief N. E. Bryant by
,,his mother, Mrs. J. S. Staudt, that the said Elbridge Staudt has been discharged from
active duty in the military forces and has voluntarily accepted employment in a defense
plant at St. Louis, Missouri;
I therefore move that the leave of absence granted the said
Price Glover- Leavo of
Ab^once extended
Elbridge Staudt be revoked and that the City Manager be requested to notify him by
registered mail to return to duty in the police department within thirty (30) days from
:this date and that upon Ilia failure to do so, he will forfeit his right to further
!employment by the city. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissloners Dorian,
Johnston, Pulliam, 17a.,-ner and Mayor Lackey (5).
Mayor Lackey offored motion that Price Glover be granted an
oxtn_nded .leave of absence from the Police Department of the City of Paducah for a
period of thirty (30) days from this date, pending the adoption of leCislation under
which cities of the second clans may be authorized by law to -rant Indefinite loaves of
)absence to employees or the City enfneed in national defense service as employees of
the Federal Govarnnont, wlthoul loss of their poaltion on the ,ollce (race or nfiocting
their ri•^,hts of aenlority under the rules of civil service. Adopted on call of
