HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 520, January 9, 1942NO 5_^D Proceedings of Board of Comniasionera City of Paducah January 9, 1942 At a call meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commisaioners Chamber at the City Rall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 3:00 o'clock P.M. on the 9th day of January, 1942, Mayor Lackoy presided and upon call of the roll the following answered to their names: Cormissloners Dorian, Johnston, Pulliam, Wagner and Mayor Lackey (5). City to ✓ Mayor Lackey stated that the reason for the call was for the purpose of prepare authorizing Corporation Counsel to prepare resolution for cancellation of the K.U. resolution cancelling franchise, and transact any other business that may come properly before the meeting. K.U. fran- chise IZ Mayor Lackey offered motioh that the CBrporaLion Counsel be requested to prepare for introduction at the meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be held on J I January 20th, 1942, a resolution authorizing the initiation of proceedings to take advantage of the cancellation provision of the existing electric franchise now held by the Kentucky Utilities Company. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Com- missioners Dorian, Johnston, Pulliam, Wagner and Mayor Lackey (5). Ad in LC. Mayor Lackey offered motion that the sum of $30.00 be appropriated for the ' Timekeepers purchase of an ad in the timekeepers book whl^,h is distributed among all employees of Book the Illinois Central Railroad Company. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Cormmissionors Dorian, Johnston, Pulliam, Wagner and Mayor Lackey (5). Price Glov Mayor Lackey offered the following motion: I move that the letter of er ordered Guy R. Herdman, Assistant Attorney General, concerning the status of Price Glover in to return to duty the police department of the City of Paducah, be received and filed. In view of the advices of the Attorney General's Office to the effect that the said Price Glover cannot legally retain his position on the police force of the City of Paducah after accepting employment with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I I further move that the leave of absence heretofore granted to him be revokedr and that 1 the "ity Manager be requested to notify the said Price Glover to return to duty within I t.,Irty (30) days from this date, to advise him that upon his failure to do so he will be considered absent from duty without leave, and by reason thereof be dismissed from the Paducah Police Department, and that a copy of the letter received from the Attorney General's office be mailed to him with said notice.
