Mayor Lackey offered the following motion: I move that the Board of
Bills to be sent to
State Legis laturo for )Commissioners endorse the five (5) Bills prepared by the Corporation Counsel and mailed

Ito Mr. Henry Ward, State Representative, for introduction at the 1942 Seaslon of the
'Logislatura, which Bills are briefly described as Gallows;
j (1) Airport Act
An Act authorizing any city or county or city in conjunction with
i•,tho county in which such city is located, to operate and maintain an airport.
(2) Policemen & Firemen Act - Change in Civil Service Rules and
11 Regulations.
An Act amending the Statute by which any policemen or fireman may
,be removed from office without cause by the veto of as many as four (4) of the five (5)
.members of the Board of Commissioners.
(3) Appointment of members of Board of Equalizers
An Act authorizing the Mayor to appoint the persons who shall sere
°s s membern of the Board of Equalizers.
(4) Fixing the salaries of all employees, including policemen and
firemen, and number to be employed by vote of the people.
An Act vesting in the legislative body of the city the exclusive right
;;to fix salaries of employees, including policemen and firemen, and the number to be
i,employed, and prohibiting the submission of such question to a vote of the people.
(5) Park Boards, Appropriations for
I
An Act repealing the statute providing for a tax levy of 5¢ on each
'$100.00 of taxable property for park purposes, and authorizing cities to appropriate to
the park boards annually an amount which, in the judgment of the Eoard of Commissioners
is necessary for maintenance and operation of public parks.
I further move that a copy of this motion be mailed to Nr. Henry Pard,
