Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah December 16, 1941 ■
At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissionera held in the
Commissioners Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kontucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on the
16th day of December, 1941, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the follow -
Ing answered to their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and
Mayor Lackey (5).
Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read.

Payroll -1st .Q Dec.1941 Commissioner Baker offered motion that the payroll for the first
ihslf of December, 1941 be allowed in the amount of $$9,990.29, and that the City
Treasurer be authorized to pay same by check drawn on the General Fund. Adopted
on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor
Laokey (5).
Kentucky Utilities Co.,� Commissioner Dorian offered motion that the original of the
Supoleaiental Lighting
Agreement Supplemental Agreement entered into between the Kentucky Utilities Company and the
City of Paducah dated November 25th, 1941 and executed by W. Reed, Vice President
of the Kentucky Utilities Company, and by Pierce E. Lackey, Mayor of the City of
Paducah, be received and filed and that the copy of said executed agreement be
delivered to the Kentucky Utilities Company. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas;
Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5).
Chastaine & Habacker ✓ Commissioner Dorian offered motion that the affidavit of Virgil
Tax Exoneration Chastaine and Joe Habacker and the letter of Henry Wall, Attorney, dated December 15,
1941, be received and filed; and,
It appearing from the affidavit and from the statement contained in
the letter of Henry Wall, Attorney, that Chastaine and Habackor were not the owners of
any merchandise or stock or automotive equipment during the year 1931 to 1934, both
inclusive, and that the City Assessor erroneously aasossed taxes against ,$,3140.00 of
merchandise, stock and automotive equipment which said firm did not own; and,
It further appearing that Henry Wall, Attorney for the City, has
recommended that the assessment against said merchandise, stock and automotive
equipment be oxpnerated and that the sum of $337.91 be accepted in full settlomt of
the taxes against the fixtures and office furniture which said firm owned during said
yours.
I therefore move that the bills for taxes against the merchandise,
stock and automotive equipment liatod In the name of Chastaine and Habacker for the
years 1931 to 1''34, both inclusive, be exonerated and that the City 'froaaurer be
authorized to accept ^,337.31 in full payment of all personal property taxes due the

of the City of Paducah, an instrument of writing under which the City of Paducah (6)
releases Kentueky Utilities Company from any and all liability of any nature whatsoever
to the City of Paducah on account of any matters or things arising under any street
lighting contract existing between the City and the Company prior totho contract dated
August 30, 1940; and (b) Releases and transfers unto Kentucky Utilities Company any
and all right, title and interest of the City of Paducah in and to any property or
facilities now used as a part of the street lighting system in the City of Paducah,
including the light posts, glassware and all lighting equipment now in use on the
bridges at 4th and 6th streets in the City of Paducah.
I further move that said release be executed in duplicate and that the copy
be received and filed as a part of the official records of the city. t

SAID FEDERAL OR STATE AGENCIES ENGAGED IN MAKING SAID IMPROVEMENT, AND WHICH TAX SHALL
BE DUE AND PAYABLE AT THE OFFICE OF THE CITY TREASURER, ,OIIE-HALF THEREOF WHEN THE V°ORK
OF CONSTRUCTION BEGINS AND THE REMAINDER THEREOF WHEN ONE-HALF OF SAID IMPROVEMENTS
SHALL HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, WHICH TIME SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONER:
