Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah July, 1940 _ '
At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Com-
missioners Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on the
23rd day of July, 1940, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor
Lackey (5).
Minutes of the previous m6etiW were adopted as read.
Lotion on franchise ✓ Commissioner Dorian offered the following motion: I move that Rudy
ordinance authorized Stewart, Clerk of the City of Paducah, be authorized to correct the motion which was
corrected
Introduced by Commissioner Mary Dorian, and duly seconded by Mayor Pierce E. Lackey at
a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on July 16, 1940, which motion was

"I move that an ordinance entitled 'AN ORDINANCE REPEALING All ORDI-
NANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE CREATING A FRANCHISE OR PRIVILEGE TO FURNISH ELECTRICITY
FOR LIGHT, POPIER, HEAT AND ANY OTHER PURPOSES FOR VMICH ELECTRICITY IS USED IN THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PROVIDING FOR THE SALE OF SAID FRANCHISE OR PRIVILEGE' "which
was adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky on July
5, 1940, be repealed."
by striking from said motion and the record thereof as it appears in the Minute Book
of the City of Paducah the words "be repealed", and inserting in lieu thereof "be
adopted", so that said motion when corrected will read as follows:

and delivered to her by 17. H. Utterback and wife, May 71. Utterback, dated July 15th,
1940, under the terms of which there is conveyed to her all of the Grantor's right,
title and interest in the North one-half of Lot No.65 in Block "D", Oak Grove Cemetery
In Paducah, Kentucky, as the same appears of record in the Oak Grove Comatery Rogiaterj
I move that the conveyance of the aforesaid Cemetery Lot to Margaret
Balthasar be approved, and that the City Clerk be authorized to make the proper
transfer in the Cemetery Register showing the conveyance of said lot.

read his declaration of the result of the vote taken upon Coammissloner Doriants
motion for repealing an ordinance adopted on July 5, 1940 for the creation and sale of
a franchise for furnishing electric light, power and heat to the City of Paducah and
its citizens, and which declaration is in words and figures as follows, to -wit:
"At a Regular Lleoting of the Board of Commissioners held on July 16th, 1940,
Commissioner Dorian introduced a motion which read as follows:
