Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah May 17, 1240 _ .
At a call meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Commission
Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, 1,entucicy, at 10 o'clock A.11. on the 17th day of
,May, 1940, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the following answered to
their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5).
Mayor Lackey stated reason for call, to -wit: For the purpose of
,approving the payroll for the first � of May, 1940, and to transact any other business
that may come properly before the meeting.
Commissioner Balser offered motion that the payroll for the first half

of HIsy, 1940 bo allowed in the amount oS X9760.15, and that the City Treasurer Ue
authorized to pay same by checks drawn on the General Fund. Adopted on call of
the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Balzer, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackoy (5)
V Mayor Lackey offered motion that the city employees be allowed a full
;day holiday Decoration Day, May 30, 1940, with the exception of the police and fire
..departments personnel. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baiter,
