At an adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Cormtiscionera held in the
.Commissioners' Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 3:15 o'clock P.M., on
the 5th day of April, 1939, Commissioner Hank presided as mayor pro tan. In the absence

yen to Chief Paduke Post #31 having applied to the Board of Commissioners for permission to
_Ccnce conduct a carnival within the city limits of Paducah on April 24 to 29th without
being required to pay a license as provided under the Occupational license ordinance
now in effect in said city; and it appearing that the proceeds derived from said
carnival will be held and used by the Chief Paduke Post 7i31 for charitable purposes, -
I now move that the request of the American Legion Chief Paduke Post #31 be granted,
and that said carnival be exempt from payment of any and all licenses for conducting
Its carnival on said dates. Adopted on call of the roll: 'leas; Commissioners

Pension Fund' Commissioner bank of:ered the following motion: Through the efforts of
minstrel en-
dorsed by members of the Police & Fire Departments, plans are being made for.the giving of a
Board
minstrel on April 12th & 13th, the proceeds to be used for the use and benefit of the
Police and Firemen's Pension Fund, and the Chiefs of the departments having requested
advices as to whether or not this Board approves the action taken by them, -
I move that the program sponsored by the police and fire departments for the purpose
above mentioned be approved, and that the City Tanager be directed to write a letter
to the head of each department, advising them of the city's endorsement of the program
