Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah September 3. 1946
At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Conmmissionorst
Chamber at the City Fall, •aducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M.. on September 3, 1946,
Mayor Protean Johnston presided in the absence of Ih'ayor Seaton and upon call of the Rol
the following answered to their names: Commissioners Friedlander, Sims, Williams and
Yayor Protem Johnston (4).
Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read.
Financial Commissioner Sims offered motion that the financial report of the Paducah
Report :!

Frepare Commissioner Sims offered motion that the Corporation Counsel prepare for

Close introduction at the next regular meeting an ordinance providing for the closing of a

portion of an alley running parallel with Bridge Street through the block between
Vasseur Avenue and Wall Street, the portion authorized to be closed being described as
follows:
"Beginning at a point in the Southeasterly line of Vasseur Avenue
180 feet more or less, from the southwest corner of the inter-
section of Bridge Street and Vasseur Avenue, and which point
Is at the Northwest corner of a lot of land owned by J. L. Jones,
at al, on which the packing plant of T. A. Jones & Sona is located;
thence in a southeasterly direction and along the rear lot line
of the lot owned by J.L.Jones, at al., 130 feet; thence in a
southwesterly direction and parallel with Vasseur Avenue 16 feet;
thence in a northwesterly direction and parallel with Bridge
Street 130 feet to Vasseur Avenue; thence in a northeasterly
direction and alon` the Southeasterly line of Vasseur Avenue
16 feet to the point of beginning.
Provided J. L. Jones, the owner of the property abutting upon said alley, executes and
delivers to the City of Paducah a deed dedicating as a public alley and for use by the
public generally a strip of ground described as follows, to -wit:
"Beginninc at a point in the East line of a 16 foot alloy
in the rear of a lot or parcel of ,,round ownod by J. Lawrence
Jones, et al., fronting 80 feet on the :lost aide of Bridge
Stroet, and which point is located at the southwest corner
of the aforesaid lot or parcel of land, thence in a southeasterly
direction and with the east line of said alley along and with
the rear line of a lot fronting on Bridge Streot to '.'fall Street;
then^e in a southwesterly direction and along the north line
of Nall Street to the West line of said 16 foot alley; thence
with the west line of said 16 foot alley toward Vasseur Avenue
190.5 feet more or le:aa, to a point 130.0 feet south of
Vasseur Avenue; thence in a southwesterly direction and parallel
with 7asneur Avenue 20.5 feet; thence in a northwesterly direction
and parallel with Fridge 3trnet 20.5; thence in a north-
easterly d Lection and parallel with Vasseur Avenue 20.5 feet

that the City of Faducah pay to said plant board the sum of '860. es for sattloment of
the bill of the said L. R. Howson dated August 2nd, 1946, for services rendered by him
in the appraisal of the electric system of the Kentucky Utilities Company, the amount

thereof to be charged to the appaopriation made to the Electric Plant 4oard, Account No[
518-B, under the a cortlonment ordinance for the year 1946. Adopted on call of the Roll
