Proceedings of Board —Lor City of Paducah Aurust 29th. 1946
At an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commis
loners' Chamber at the City hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on August 29, 1946,
Mayor Frotem presided in the absence of Mayor Seaton, and upon call of the Roll the
following answered to their names: Commissioners Friedlander, Sims, Williams and
Mayor Protem Johnston (4).
Holiday Labor_!' Commissioner Sims offered the following motion: Monday, September 2nd, 1946,

being Labor Day, I move that all City rinployees be allowed a holiday with the exception

of the Police and Fire Department Personnel. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Friedlander, Sims, Williamd and Mayor Frotem Johnston (4).
Water Line` ! Commissioner Williams offered motion that the petition of T.E.Bell for permission

ii to extend his privately owned water line from a point on 9+'ilson Avenue along and under
an alley to Lot No. 33 in the Country Club Addition for the purpose of furnishing
water to a residence now being constructed on said Lot t;o. 33 be granted subject to the

limitations and conditions contained in said petition.
Nothing contained in the granting of this request shall be construed as a
guarantee of pressure or water service on the part of the City of Paducah or its i
Commissioners of '."later 11orks, and nothing in the granting of said request shall now or
hereafter be construed as an obligation or agreement on the part of the City of Paducah
or its Commissioners of later :Yorks to purchase or acarire said water line or any part
thereof or to maintain same; no such obligation shall arise should said territory
where said privately owned pipe line lies be annexed to or taken into the corporate
limits of the City of Paducah. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Friedlander, Sims, Williams and Mayor Protem Johnston (4).
Amend Apportion—
ment Ordinance Commissioner Friedlander offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINAN
AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: SAN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT
OF PU3LIC FUNDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1946 A:1D APPROPRIATING
ii THE PUBLIC REVENUE OF THE CITi TO SUCH PURPO3ES1, BY INCREASING THE SALARIES OF ALL
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY, PROVIDING THE AiiOUNT OF SUCH INCREASE, AND TRANSFERRING THE SUM
OF „7,173.65 FROM, THE CONTINGENT FU14D FOR THE PAYMOTT OF SAID ADDITIONAL SALARIES, AND
BY TRANSFERRING FROM THE CONTINGENT FUND 711E ADDITIONAL SUM OF '540.00 TO THE FIRE
DEPARTLENT FOR PAYMENT OF ADDITIONAL SALARIES TO MEN IN SAID DEPARTMENT AHO HAVE
RECEIVED PROMOTIONS", BV introduced and remain on file in its completed form for public!
Inspection until the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be held on Tuesday
Soptembed 10th, 1946 at 7:30 P.M., and that said ordinance be put upon its final
passage on that date. Adopted on cell of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Friedlander,
::1m3, .-1111 Irma and Payor Frotem Johnston (4).
On motion the neeting adjourned.
