At a Regular ideating of the Board of Commisaioners held in the Commissioner s
Chamber at the City,Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 8:00 o'clock P.1.11. on May 28th, 1946,
rayor Seaton presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissionera Friedlander, Johnston, Sims, and Yayor Seaton (4), Commissioner
Williams Eeing absent from the meeting.
Minutes of the previous moetin,^ were adopted as read.
Installations'' Commissioner Sims offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive

at 17th and and file the letter of Vr. Chas. A. Williams, City Manager, in which he recommends

that the city decline to install at this time a street light in the 1700 block on

Gaa contract�l Commissioner Johnston offered motion that the Contract entered into
Shell Oil Co.B
between the City of Paducah and the Shell Oil Company, dated May 1st, 1946, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Friedlander,
Johnston, Sims and b!ayor Seaton (4).
Holiday / Commissioner Johnston offered motion that Decoration Day, May 30, 1946,
May 30th.
Lein^ a legal holiday, I move that all city employees with the exception of the
Police and Fire Department personnel be allowed a holiday. Adopted on call of

(2) Bid of Ponry Fetter Supply Company in which said Company offers to
sell to the City of Paducah one two ata,,e air-cooled gasoline engine for ^,2005.00,
one demolition tool for ^,236.50, with extra equipment at the prices quoted, one
South Bend Cutter Snipe Pick-up Street .;weeper for J,3,i60.00, with extra equipment
at the prices quoted, and one South bend four hundred gallon two wheeled trailer
for „1218.75.
(3) bid of Roy C. Jhayne Supply Company in which said company offers
P to sell to the City of Paducah one Standard Steel Works four hundred Collor trailer
for ,1490.00, and one Standard Steel Works model six hundred gallon trailer for

offers to sell to the City of Paducah one Ingersoll-Rand model 105 -GK Gasoline

(5) Bid of Roy C. Uhayne Supply Co. in which said company offers to

on two pneumatic tires for $2284.75, one model C-7 Cleveland eighty lb. paving
breaker for ;;236.50, six one and one eiGhth inch by eighteen inch points for $15.00,
and 50ft. - 3/4" air hose with quick detachable couplings for }:25.00.
(6) Bid of Milson Machinery and Supply Company in which said company
offers to sell to the Citi of Paducah one Model GK -105 Ingersoll-Rand two stage
air cooled comoressor for `2000.00, said air compressor to be mounted on two
pneumatic tires, one model GK -105 Ingersoll-Rand two stage portable air compressors
mounted on four wheels for the sum of ;1892.04, one model CC -80 Ingersoll-Rand

15ayor Seaton offered motion that the report of the Family Service Society
concarnin? the difficulties it will have for the remainder of the year 1946 in
maintaining the service on account of the lack of funds appropriated for that
purpose be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners

P".r. Williams offered motion that the copy of the letter written by I,r.
R. H. Daily, Director of Personnel and Safety, Hayes 'rreiCht Lines, concerning
safety rules and regulations which employees of the company are required to comply
with, and also in w'.-ich he expresses the desire of his company to co-operate with
the city of Faducah in the enforcement of traffic rules and regulations, Le
received anti filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Friedlander,
Johnston, Sims, Williams and Yayer Seaton (5).
