At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners In ld in the
Commissioners' Chamber in the City Hall., Paducah, Kentucky, at 2:00 olclock P.M.,
on the 4th day of '..lay, 1936, Mayor Washburn presided and upon call of the roll
the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hannin, Lockwood, Melton,
Pulliam and Mayor 117ashburn (5).
Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as road.

Commission r Hannin offered the followln; motion: I move that the
Police & Fire Depts
Corporation Counsel
Corporation Counsel be instructed to prepare an ordinance setting up rules and
to prepare rules &
regulations
regulations for the Police and Fire Departments governing all employes th�reln,
w:.lch orainance shall classify all employes therein. That said Corporation
Counsel be also instructed to prepare an ordinance creating a Board of Examiners
for police and firemen, said examinattons to be as to applicants for either
Police or Fire Department as to their physical condition, moral and educational
qualifications. And that said Corporation Counsel be also instructed to prepare
an ordinance adopting provi ion of the Kentucky S tatute as to pension fund of
Police and Fire Departments. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners

Commissioner Melton offered the following motion: That a license to

Commission.r Melton offered the following :notion: I move that the
Actor Bus Franchise
sold to Kentucky
report of the sale of the Franchise provided in Motor Bus Franchise Ordinance No.l,
Utilities Company
as reported by L. V. Bean, City 11anager, be received and filed, and that slid bid
of Kentucky Utilities Company as retorted be accepted, and the Sale of salt franchise
be ratified and approved. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners
Hannin, Lockwood, Melton, Pulliam and Mayor Washburn (5).
Commissioner Melton offered the following motion: The Ludlow

t ,Transit Company having qualified as a bidder at thL salo of Motor Bus Franchise
in order to bid at the sale of said franchise on the 4th day of May, 1936, by
depositing 6:250.00 with the City of t'aaucah, and the Board of Commissioners having
'accepted the bid of the Kentucky Utilities Company for the purchase of said
franchise, - I move that the deposit of $250.00 so placed v,ith the City of Paducah
by the said Ludlow Transit Company be now repaid and refunded to said unsuccessful
bidder the Ludlow i'ran;it Company. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Copia Lsslonces
