At a call meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the
Commissionera' Chamber in the City Rall, Paducah, Kentucky at 10:00 o'clock A.M.
on the 29th day of August, 1933, itayor Scott presided and upon call of the roll the
following answered to their names: Commissioners Block, Bradshaw and Mayor Scott (3)
Com-gissioner Rieke being out of the city.
Charges 61a7or Scott stated that the purpose of the meeting was to hear
preferred
against charges preferred against seven members of the Police Depqrtment as follows:
7 members
of the C. D. Gilliam, E. C. Carter, J. W. Jackson, E. R. Lemon, Henry Singery, Andy Almy
Police
Department and Joe Green. Said charges having been preferred by the Chief of Police,
E. Bryant and alleging for the most part inefficiency and lack of qualification
for the duties of policemen.
The Policement were represented by Counsel and the Commissioners
were represented in the hearing by City Solicitor Vi- A. Berry.
Upon completion of the hearing the Board adjourned for consideration
of the cases.
