At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the
Commissioners' Chamber in the City Hall Building In the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 17th day of October, 1932, Mayor Scott
presided and upon call of the roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Block, uradshow, Holt, Rieke and Moyer Scott (5).
Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted no read.
$ 4.93 allowed Commissioner Rieke offered motion that the Commissioner of Public
Citizens Bank for '
remittance to Finance be authorized to pay the Citizens Savings Bank the amount of $ 4.93 for
Chemical Bank
New York .remittance to the Chemical Bank & Trust Company, New York, N.Y. in payment of
the interest due from September 1st to October 7th, 1932, inclusive, on the
payment of $ 800.00 on the $ 90,000.00 notes executed to said bank by the City
of Paducah in the year 1931..Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners
Block, Bradshaw, Holt, Rieke and Mayor Scott (5).
Interest allowed Commissioner Rieke offered motion that the Commissioner of Public
Citizens Bank
$ 2,046.88 on Finance be authorized to pay the amount of $ 2,046.68 for accrued interest from
balance of unpaid
notes. June 1st to September 30th, inclusive, on the unpaid balance of the notes
executed to the Citizens Savings Bank by the City of Paducah in the year 1931,
less the payments made on said notes during the last four months period. Adopted
on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Block, Bradshaw, Holt, Rieke and
Mayor Scott (5).
Reed and King Commissioner Rieke offered the following motion: Whereas the tax
exonerated for
the June bill bills # 3733 assessed to Reed King and y 458 assessed to A.F. Boyd on property
payment and the
October pavment 49 x 144 feet on North 25th Street, east side, known as # 718 North 25th Street
of tax bill
#3733 proves to be a double assessment and said bills for the June half of the year
having been paid by both parties: I move that Read & King be exonerated for
the June bill payment, also the October payment and the Commissioner of Public
Finance be authorized to refund Reed & King the amount of $ 25.40 paid for the
June half and charge to the Contingent Fund. Adopted on call of the roll:
Yeas; Commissioners Block, Bradshaw, Holt, Rieke and Mayor Scott ( 5).
Lirnie Hoed Cormilosioner Rieke offered the following motion: Whereas the tax
exonerated from
ps7ing poll tax bill 11 4504 for the year 1927 assessed against Liru:io Reed, colored, 923 South
and said amount
$ 1.50 refunded 12th Street, erroneously included a poll tax for C; 1.50 for her husband Jerry
to her.
Reed, who died In the year 1931, I move that Idnnie Peed who paid the poll tax
of ; 1.50 on Zentember let, 19320 be duly exonerated and the Commissioner of
Public Firnnee be authorized to refund said amount and charge to the Contingent
Fund. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Corrnissioners Block, Bradshaw, Holt,
Rieke and ka?or Fcott (5).
Claims for mnnth Commissioner Bioko offored motion that the claims for the month of
