At a call meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the
Commissionerav Chamber in the City Hall Building in the City of Paducah,
Kentucky at 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 11th day of September, 1931, Mayor
Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the following answered to their
names: Commissioners Hanning Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (3).
Mayor Lackey stated reason for call, to -wit: For the purpose of
allowing woekkly payroll of Cotton & Eskew, Accountants, and such other
business as may tomo before the Board,
Cotton & Eskew
Mayor Lackey offered motion that the account of Cotton & Eskew for
weekly payroll for
city audit
services as certified accountants for service on the audit of the city
records for the week ending September 5th, 1931, amounting to k416.25, as
approved by the mayor, be allowed and paid; and that the Commissioner cc
Public Finance be authorized to draw check for said amount and charge same to
the Contingent Fund. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners
Hannin, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (3).
Fire Department
Mayor Lackey offered motion that the report of S.M.Slaughter, Fire
August report
Chief, for the month of August', 1931 be received and filed. Adopted on call of

Boiler repairs
Commissioner Hannin offered the follows ng motion: The Commissioner of

Public Property having advertised for and received bids for certain repairs to

the boiler at the City Hospital, and having received said bids in accordance
with said advertisement and opened same as therein provided, and it appearing
from an examination of all bids that the bid of the National -'heat Metal Works
to take out 70, 4 in. x 18 ft. boiler tubes and install new tubes in said
boiler, to be furnished by t^em, for the sum of u598.50 is the lowest and best
bid, and said bidder having agreed to guarantee a first class job, I move that
the bid of National Sheet Metal Works be received, filed and accepted; and that
the Corvnissioner of Public Property be 8uthorizod to have slid work done in
ac!ordance with said bid, and upon completion of said work and inspection and
approval of same, if the soma is done in nrrordanco with the terms of said bid,
that the snid National Shoot Notal Works be paid the sum of y598.50 for said job;
