At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners hold in the Commission -
ars' Chamber in the City Hall Building in the City of Paducah, Kentucky at 2 o'clock
p.m., on the 80th day of September, 1929, Mayor Lackey nresided and upon cnll of the
roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Bradshaw, Hannin, Nelson,
Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5).
Minutes of the•previous meetings were adopted as rand.
Carey -Reed Comnissioncr Bradshaw offered the following motion: Carey -Reed Company

for extent- having failed to satisfy the Board of Commissioners that Street Paving Contract No.

1 can be completed by the 15th day of October, 1929, pursuant to the request of said
Carey -Reed Company for an extension of time on said contract, but having requested the
further consideration of said request, I now move that the request of Carey -Reed
Company as contractor, and the Maryland Casualty Company as surety therein, for
an extention of time to the 15th day of October ndxt within wbich to complete Street
Paving Contract No.l on Jefferson Street, from 25th Street to 32nd Street, be further
deferred until the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Monday,
October 7, 1929. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Bradshaw,
Hannin, Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5).
Commissioner Bradshaw offered the following motion: It appearing from
Washington the examination of all of the bids received for the construction of gravel street, and

to ..2nd concrete curb, gutter and driveways on Washington Street, from the west curb line of
gravel etc
21st Street to the west property line of 22nd Street, under Contract No.S, that the
bid of E.L.Beyer is the lowest and best bid, I now move that his proposal and bid on
said contract for the construction of said street by grading and graveling same with
bank gravel, as provided in the specifications, and by the construction of concrete
curb, gutter and driveways with gravel aggregate in all concrete, be accepted; and
that the Mayor be authorized, empowered and instructed to enter into a contract with
the said E.L.Beyer for the construction of said street by grading rnd graveling same
with bank gravel, and by the construction of concrete curb, gutter ntd driveways in all
respects in accordance with the plans and specifications and under the provisions of
the ordinance providing for said improvement. And I further move tTint the certified
checks of the unsuccessful bidders be returned to them. Adopted on call of the roll:

Commissioner Rutter offered motion that the report on the George W.

Katterjohn & Son Contract No.l be accepted, and that the Comminsioner of Public
final settlement
Finance be authorized to make final settlement upon sale of the Improvement Bonds
to be issued thereon on the ten year payment plan.
And that the Mayor and Commissioner of Public Finance be authorized
to have printed, executed and sold such Improvement Bonds to,the amount of
$4498.23 in accordance with the provisions of Section 3101 of the Kentucky
Statutes governing same. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners
Bradshaw. Hannin, Nelson, Rutter and Mayor Lackey, (5).
Commissioner Rutter offered motion that tb� cash orders in the amount
