On motion of member Owens, the minutes of May the 5th, 1924, were adopted as e " ti..ilson read except the resolution granting George H. Nilson the privilege to land a ferry boat at the foot of Elizabeth Street. Yeas (12). On motion the minutes of the Call Meeting of May the 12th, 1924, were adopted as read. Member Morrison offered motion that the findings of the Joint Finance Committee, as shown by their report, be allowed, and the Clerk be instructed to issue proper warrant Findings on the Treasurer to pay the respective amounts as shown thereint of Joint Finance Com. (6) Member Morrison offered motion that the sami:+annual interest due June the 1st, on bonds known as the Chicago, St. Louis and Paducah Railroad issue in the amount of $31750.00 be allowed and the Clerk be instructed to issue proper warrant on Treasurer to pay same when due. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas: Watts, Bougeno, Cochran', Crider, Jacobs, Kerth, Mason, Morrison, Owen, Rigglesberger, Spicer and Stewart (12). Same offered motion to receive and file the examination of Luther 0. Harris, J. made by J. Member Stewart offered motion that Patrolman L. 0. Harris be excused from the Motion lost. Police Force, as he was appointed illegally. Yeas: Crider, Jacobs, Kerth, Stewart. (4). Nays: Watts, Bougeno, Cochran, Mason, Morrison, Owen, Rigglesberger, "�pieer. (8). Member Rigglesberger read an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TIE USE 02 STREETS AND SIDEWALKS BY PEDDLERS IN THE SECTION BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY MONROE STREET; ON THE SOUTH BY CLERK STREET AND EXTENDING FROM THE EAST SIDE OF FIRST STREET TO THE ;SwST '.'IDN OF SI7TH STREET IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCy'Y." On motion of same, same was given first passage upon the call of the roll by the following vote: Yeas: Watts, Bougeno, Cochran, Crider, Jacobs, Xgirth, Mason, .Morrison, Owen, Rigglesberger, Spicer and Stewart. (12). On motion of same the rules were suspended and the ordinance read by title upon the call of the roll by the following veto: Yeas: Watts, Bongeno, Cochran, Crider, Jacobs, Gerth, ].!seen, Lorrison, Owen, Riiglesberper, Spicer and ,tewart. (12). Member Spicer offered motion to concur in the recomrendation of the Police and Fire Committee allowing the bill of Munnel Smith amounting to $22.50 for 45 hours labor for painting parking signs, saa:e to be charged to Police Department. Adopted on the call of the roll by the following vote: Yeae: Putts, Bougeno, Cochran, Crider, Jacobs, Kerth, Mason, Morrison, Owen, Rigglesberger, Lpicer and Stewart. (12). No. -- 56. Owen, $36.00, and the Clerk be instructed to is6ue proper wariant on the Treasurer for same, and charge same to Oak Grove Cemetery. Member Spicer offered motion to concur in the recommendation of the Police and -' - Fire Committee in regard to allowing the Chief of the Fire Department to put on an extra fireman. Same offered motion to concur in the recommendation of the Police & Fire Committee in regard to the Chief of Police putting on two patrolmen as Traffic Officers and to be used as he designates. Adopted on the call of the roll; Yeas: Watts, Bougeno, Cochran, na:rison, Owen, Rigglesberger and Spicer (7). Nays: Jacobs, Gerth & Otewart, (3), Cridei and Mason not voting. Same offered motion to concur in the recommendation of the Police and Fire Committee in regard to Police Power given to James Poore, as Merchant Police, by a former administration, being rescinded. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas: Watts, Bougeno, Cochran, Crider, Mason, Morrison, Rigglesberger and Spicer (8). Nays: Jacobs, Xerth, Owen & Stewart. (4). -- Member Morison offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen in ic-gard to granting to Watson Banners at #100 Broadway, Malt & 6ereal Beverage License. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas: (12). Member Jacobs offered motion that the City of Paducah, convey by Quit -Claim Deed to Yary Boyd, Lot No. 117511, Block 11411, in Oak Grove Cemetery, for the sum of X50.00, and that the Clerk be instructed and authorized to sign said deed and make proper entry of said conveyance in Cemetery Deed Book. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (12). Same offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen in iegard to allowing the Cemetery Committee to purchase two lawn mowers, two scythea and a few small tools. Also the sexton be allowed two extra men not longer than September 30th, all to be charged to Oak Grove Cemetery. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (12). Member Lason offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen in regard to accepting the resignation of J. F. Rassman, and his bond ordered cancelled. - Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (12). Member Jacobs offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of aldermen in regard to the property purchased for the 3A. Se:rer that will be 19th Street when extended from Broadway to Madison Street, 50`feet in" width be,,dedicated for street d purposes. idopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (12). Member Mori.ison offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen, with reference to complete turns on Broadway, except that said ordinance be drawn to prohibit complete or "U" turns on Broadway Street from Second Street to Sixth Street, both inclusive. Gott to the City Solicitor and Joint, Judiciary Co= ittee. Member Rigglesberger offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen in instructing the Street Committee to report to the General Council the - estimated amount the City will have to pay for its part of the new construction that has been ordered to date. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (12). Member Morrison offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen in regard to the Street Committee, trying to settle the claim of Yancey & Jonson with the Puryear estate, about the lot on the West side of 10th Street between Broadway and Zentucky Avenue and report back to General Council. /'adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas (12). Member Spicer offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen in allowing the bill of A. L. Dabney, Consulting Engineer, amounting to $572.12, upon Bill of the recommendation of the Board of Public Works, same to be charged to the 3rd District A. L. :�abncl, Sewer Fund. Adopted on the call of the roll: Yeas: Watts, Bougeno, Cochran, Crider, Jacobs, Morrison, Rigglesberger and Spicer. (8). Plays: Korth, ISason, Owen and Stewart. (4). Member Cochran offered motion to concur in the recommendation of the Board of Public 7lorks, and City Engineer in allowing compensation to H. Sl. Perdew, for time -•...P='-��': lost on account of injury received while working on the streets. Member Jacobs offered motion to concur in the action of the Board of Aldermen in regard to concuring in the recommendation of the Board of Public Works and -:.
