At a regular meeting of the Board of Councilmen held on the Third
Floor of the City Hall, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, June the 20th, 1927;
President '.Watson presided, and upon the call of the roll the followirp answered

TIIPIFFOFF, - Resolved that in the death of Gtr. J. E. Mattison, Sr.,
we have sustained the loss of a friend whose fellowship it was nn honor to enjoy,
that we bear willing testimony to his many vittues, to his unques,;ioneble honesty
and nis unfailing; willingness to do and serve at all times; that we offer to his
widow an,i family, over whom sorrovt has hung+, her sable mantle, our heartfelt sympatluy
and pray that the Infinite Goodness may bring speedy relief to their hardened hearts
and innnire them with the consolations that Rope and Faith in God give even in the
shadow of two Tomb.
RESOLVED: That tris resolution be spread upon the minute books of the
