A MUNICIPAL ORDER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENACT CERTAIN TEMPORARY
STREET CLOSURES AND PARKING SPACE VACATIONS IN THE DOWNTOWN
AREA FOR THE PURPOSES OF ASSISTING LOCAL BUSINESSES TO EXPAND
THEIR OUTSIDE DINING AREA FOOTPRINT TO MEET HEALTHY AT WORK
REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah recognizes the local effects of the
COVID-19 pandemic including the implementation of state and federal recommendations
for social distancing, closing of businesses, and self -quarantining requests all in an effort
to prevent the spread of this devastating virus; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Governor's Office has announced that
restaurants may reopen on May 22, 2020, at 33% capacity inside and unlimited outdoor
seating with social distancing; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah recognizes that it is important to assist
local businesses with implementing safe outdoor dining options where possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. Recitals and Authorizations. The Board of Commissioners
�— hereby authorizes the City Manager to enact certain temporary street closures and parking
space vacations in the Downtown Area for the purpose of assisting local businesses to
expand their outside dining area footprint to meet the Healthy at Work requirements.
Further, the City Manager is authorized to set certain requirements for businesses
operating temporary outside dining to ensure compliance with all applicable ordinances
and laws and take all steps necessary to ensure the safety of citizens.
SECTION 2. Effective Date. This Order shall be in full force and effect
on and after the date as approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky.
