AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTIES LOCATED
ADJACENT TO STUART NELSON PARK FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GREENWAY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, hereby approves the purchase of real
properties in the amount of $32,500, from J.E.D.D., located adjacent to Stuart Nelson Park, situated in
Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, and more particularly described as follows:
PROPERTY I
Beginning at a rock located in the Southwest corner of a 13 acre tract of land conveyed to
John Cousins and his wife, by Mrs. F. H. Metzler, widow, et al, on March 2, 1956, by
deed of record in Deed Book 372, page 197, McCracken County Court Clerk's Office,
and which rock and Southwest corner is 30 degrees Northeast and 85 feet from a fire plug
on the West side of the roadway leading from Stuart Nelson Park and to cemetery; thence
from the point of beginning and South 62 'V2 degrees east for a distance of 350 feet and
the Southwest corner of a tract of land 8.92 acres conveyed by John Cousins and his wife,
Della Cousins, to Claude H. Young and his wife, Sue Nell Young, on November 22,
1965, deed of record in Deed Book 472, page 454, aforesaid Clerk's office; thence in a
northerly direction and for a distance of 661 feet to a stake in the South line of the right
of way of the Illinois Central Railroad, and which stake is North 77 degrees 560 feet from
the Northeast corner of the 8.92 acre tract above referred to; thence South 77 degrees
West and along the southerly right of way line of said railroad for a distance of 300 feet
to a rock; thence south 15 degrees west 435 feet to the point of beginning, and said tract
containing 4.08 acres, and being a part of the 13 acre tract conveyed to John Cousins as
heretofore set out, and which is more particularly set out in a survey of H. F. Henson
dated February 29, 1956.
Being in all respects the same property conveyed to David K. Ullerich, Trustee for the
purpose of reconveyance, by Deed of Conveyance from Eddie Hampton and Melinda
Hampton, his wife dated October 20, 1986, and recorded in Deed Book 695, Page 849, in
the McCracken County Clerk's Office.
PROPERTY 2
Beginning at the northeast corner of the Claude H. Young property described in Deed
Book 472, page 454, in the McCracken County Clerk's Office, said point also being in
the West property line of the Hugo J. Ullerich and Wilimina Gramse Ullerich property
described in Deed Book 282, page 113, in the aforesaid Clerk's office; thence North 16
degrees 15 minutes 30 seconds East 114.73 feet to a point; thence South 76 degrees 54
minutes 30 seconds West a distance of 881.41 feet to a point; thence South 13 degrees 54
minutes 30 seconds West 112.28 feet to a point, said point being the Northwest corner of
the Jasper L. Hartfield and Juanita Hartfield property described in Deed Book 524, Page
518, in the aforesaid Clerk's office; thence North 76 degrees 54 minutes 30 seconds East
876.13 feet to the point of beginning and containing 2.02 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to project account PA0032.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
