AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO.2 FOR THE CITY HALL HVAC IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2004-11-6897 to enter into a
contract with Swift and Staley Mechanical Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $169,000.00 for
the Paducah City Hall HVAC Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 was approved by Ordinance No. 2005-3-6937
for an increase in the amount of $8,015.00 for relocation of thermostat, addition of duct box,
ductwork and replacement of control valves, increasing the total contract price to $177,015.00;
and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 is required for an increase in the amount of
$3,491.00 for controls on (5) dual duct boxes that were discovered during construction, and in
order to finalize the project for the above referenced contract, the total contract price will
increase to $180,506.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute Change
Order No. 2 for an increase in the amount of $3,491.00 with Swift and Staley Mechanical
Contractors, Inc., for modifications to the original scope of work necessary to finalize the project,
increasing the total cost to $180,506.00.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to City Hall HVAC account.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
