ORDINANCE NO. 2019-7-8582
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE V
"DEPARTMENTS", SECTION 2-211 "ESTABLISHMENT",
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, this Ordinance amends Chapter 2, Article V "Departments" of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, regarding the establishment of City Departments;
and
WHEREAS, this Ordinance is being amended to separate the Clerk's Office from the
General Government Department, rename the General Government Department as the
Administration Department, and create a new department to be known as the Customer
Experience Department;
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the City Commission of the City of Paducah as
follows:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky hereby amends Section 2-211 of the Paducah
Code of Ordinances as follows:
Sec. 2-211 Establishment
The following departments of the city are hereby established under the
direction and supervision of the city manager:

(2) Finance.
(3) Human Resources.
(4) Police.
(5) Fire.
(6) Public Works.
(7) Engineering.
(8) Parks and Recreation.
(9) Planning.
(10) Information Technology.
(11) City Clerk.
(12) Customer Experience.
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY. If any section, paragraph or provision of this Ordinance shall
be held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the invalidity or unenforceability of such
section, paragraph or provision shall not affect any of the remaining provisions of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 3. COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETINGS LAWS. The City Commission
hereby finds and determines that all formal actions relative to the adoption of this Ordinance
were taken in an open meeting of this City Commission, and that all deliberations of this City
Commission and of its committees, if any, which resulted in formal action, were in meetings
open to the public, in full compliance with applicable legal requirements.
SECTION 4. CONFLICTS. All ordinances, resolutions, orders or parts thereof in conflict
with the provisions of this Ordinance are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed and the
provisions of this Ordinance shall prevail and be given effect.
SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be read on two separate days and
will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
