ORDINANCE NO. 2006-7- 7153
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO ENTER INTO A DEED
WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide employment opportunities and housing
opportunities for its residents and the community, which serves the public purpose and renders a
public service; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, desires to
convey property in the Fountain Avenue area to the City; and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto desire to further the revitalization of the housing
stock in the Fountain Avenue area by encouraging rehabilitation of existing structures and new,
infill construction, and in general, to reduce the existence of dilapidated, substandard properties in
the Fountain Avenue area;
NOW, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as follows:
Section 1. The City Commission does hereby approve the Deed, attached hereto,
between the Housing Authority of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the City of Paducah,
pp Kentucky, conveying the property generally described as being between 13th and 14'h Streets, and
Clay and Madison Streets, from the Housing Authority of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to the
City of Paducah, Kentucky. The Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby authorized to
execute and approve said Deed, and to execute all documents related to the Deed.
Section 2. The legal description of the property to be conveyed is as follows:
Tract I
Beginning at a point in the North line of Madison Street 40.42 feet from the Northwest corner of
the intersection of 13th and Madison Streets, and thence with the North line of Madison Street, 40
feet 5 11/18 inches to a point; thence at right angles, and towards Harrison Street, 165 feet to the
South line of a public alley, 16 feet 5 inches in width; thence at right angles and with the South
line of said alley towards 13th Street 40 feet and 5 11/18 inches; thence at right angles 165 feet to
the point of beginning.
Being the same property conveyed to the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission by
deed dated July 7th, 1939, of record in Deed Book 201, page 570, McCracken County Court
Clerk's Office.
Tract II
� Being a portion of Lot 18, in Block 5, of Jones & Shearer's Addition to the city of Paducah,
Kentucky and beginning at a point, the Southwest corner of the intersection of 13th and Clay
Streets, and running thence with the South line of Clay Street and toward 14th street, 25 feet;
thence at right angles in a Southerly direction 95 feet to the North line of an alley, 10 feet in width;
thence at right angles and with the North line of said alley, 25 feet to the West line of 13th Street;
thence at right angles and with the West line of 13th Street, 95 feet to the point of beginning.

corner of the intersection of 13th and Madison Streets; and running thence with the North line of
Madison Street, towards 14th Street, 40 feet 5 11/18 inches; thence at right angles 165 feet to the
South line of a public alley, 16 1/2 feet in width; thence at right angles and with the South line of
said alley, towards 13th Street 40 feet 5 11/18 inches; thence at right angles 165 feet to the point
of beginning.

beginning at a point, the Northwest corner of the intersection of 13th and Harrison Streets, and
running thence with the North line of Harrison Street 44.21 feet; thence at right angles 165 feet to
the South line of a public alley 14.89 feet in width; thence at right angles and with the South line
of said alley, 44.21 feet to the West line of 13th Street; thence at right angles and with the West
line of 13th Street 165 feet to the point of beginning.

Southwest corner of the intersection of 13th and Clay Streets, and running thence with the South
line of Clay Street 95 feet; thence at right angles 165 feet to the North line of a public alley, about
14.89 feet in width; thence at right angles and with the North line of said alley 120 feet to the West
line of 13th Streets; thence at right angles, and with the West line of 13th Street 60 feet to the line
of an alley 10 feet in width; thence at right angles and with the South line of said alley 25 feet;
thence at right angles, and parallel with 13th Street, 105 feet to the point of beginning.

Streets. Beginning at the Northwest corner of the intersection of Madison and 13th Street, thence
along the North line of Madison Street West 40 %2 feet; thence at right angles North 165 feet to the
South line of an alley; thence at right angles and along the South line of said alley East 40 Meet
to the West line of 13th Street; thence at right angles and along the West line of 13th Street South
165 feet to the beginning.

Street 84.70 feet to the East line of 14th Street, being the Southeast corner of the intersection of
14th and Harrison Streets; thence at right angles and with the East line of 14th Street 165 feet to
the North line of a public alley, 16 feet and 5 inches in width; thence at right angles and with the

Northwest corner of the intersection of 13th and Harrison Streets, and running thence in a
Northerly direction 230 feet; thence at right angles 165 feet to the South line of a public alley,
about 14.19 feet in width; thence at right angles and with the South line of said alley, towards 13th
Street, 230 feet; thence at right angles 165 feet to the point of beginning.
Being the same property conveyed to the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission, by
deed dated July 29, 1939, of record in Deed Book 202, Page 215, McCracken County Court
Clerk's office.
Tract XXVIII
Being all the closed public alleys and streets within the following boundaries: Beginning at a
point, 13th & Clay Streets; thence with the South line of Clay Street, through 14th Street; thence
with the East line of 14th Street to the corner of 14th & Madison; thence at left angles with the
North line of Madison Street to 13th & Madison Street; thence at left angles with the West line of
13th Street, Clay Street to the point of beginning.
The above described property was originally part of previously dedicated public ways of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, which rights-of-way were closed by Ordinances passed on October 2, 1939
and December 11, 1939.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be read on two separate dates and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to 4.
