ORDINANCE NO. 2007-2-7250
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE
ROOF ON THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CENTER, AUTHORIZING A
CONTINGENCY AMOUNT IN THE EVENT OF UNFORESEEN PROBLEMS AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah accepts the bid of Southern Roofing Company,
Inc., in an amount not to exceed $79,223.00 for replacement of the roof on the Chamber of
Commerce Center, said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications,
advertisement for bid, and as contained in the bid of Southern Roofing Company, Inc., of January
12, 2007.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract
with Southern Roofing Company, Inc. for replacement of the roof on the Chamber of Commerce
Center, as authorized in Section 1 above, pursuant to the specifications, bid proposal and all
contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. In the event that decking and/or structural support materials must be
replaced, the City of Paducah hereby allows a contingency up to 10% or an amount not to exceed
$7,922.00 be expended upon approval by the Finance Director.
SECTION 4. This expenditure shall be charged to the Commission Contingency
Account.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
