A MUNICIPAL ORDER NAMING THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
OVER PERKINS CREEK LINKING THE CITY'S GREENWAY TRAIL TO THE
MCCRACKEN COUNTY TRAIL SYSTEM "BOB LEEPER BRIDGE"
WHEREAS, by Municipal Order No. 2088, the City Commission
approved the application for a Recreational Trails Program Grant through the Kentucky
Department of Local Government for the purchase and installation of a pedestrian bridge
over Perkins Creek that would connect the City's Greenway Trail to the McCracken
County trail adjacent to the soccer complex; and
WHEREAS, former McCracken County Judge Executive Robert "Bob"
Leeper initiated the partnership between the City of Paducah, McCracken County and
Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership to pursue funding for the bridge; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission now wishes to thank Dr. Leeper for his
leadership and service to the City of Paducah, McCracken County and the
Commonwealth of Kentucky by naming the bridge over Perkins Creek in his honor.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby names the bridge over
Perkins Creek linking the City's Greenway Trail to the McCracken County Trail System
"Bob Leeper Bridge."
SECTION 2. This Order will be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its adoption.
