A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
GRANT APPLICATION AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY THROUGH THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
AGENCY, FOR A FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY MATCHING GRANT IN AN
AMOUNT OF $63,683.25 FOR THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a grant application
and all documents necessary through the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency
Management Agency, for a Fire Prevention and Safety matching grant for the Fire Department in
the amount of $63,683.25 for a laser scanner, multi -gas monitor, smoke detectors, as well as the
cost of personnel time to install monitors and educate the household on fire safety. A 5% local
cash match in the amount of $3,351.75 will be provided through the Fire Department's budget.
SECTION 2. That the Planning Department is hereby authorized to submit the
grant application authorized in section 1 above to the Department of Homeland Security, Federal
Emergency Management Agency through the FEMA Grant Portal.
SECTION 3. This order shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its adoption.
