ORDINANCE 2007-2-7256
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 WITH JIM SMITH CONTRACTING COMPANY,
LLC FOR THE PECAN DRIVEBUCKNER LANE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2005-8-7001 to enter into a
contract with Jim Smith Contracting Company, LLC, in the amount of $3,636,376.44 for
remaining improvements necessary for the Pecan Drive/ Buckner Lane Roadway
Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2006-5-7122 the City approved Change Order
No. 1 in the amount of $235,769.32, for required Embankment in Place adjustment
increasing the total cost to $3,872,145.76; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 is required for an increase in an amount not
to exceed $230,325.04 for adjustment of final contract quantities and in order to finalize the
project for the above referenced contract, the total contract price will increase to
$4,102,470.80.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute Change
Order No. 2 for a price increase in the amount of $230,325.04 for the City of Paducah's
Pecan Drive/ Buckner Lane Roadway Improvement Project, increasing the total contract
price to $4,102,470.80.

SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Project Account No.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
