A MUNICIPAL ORDER ADOPTING THE FY2012-2013 POSITION AND PAY
SCHEDULE FOR THE FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to implement COLA salary increases as listed below
for full-time employees, effective June 28, 2012 for the July 20, 2012 pay period (second pay period in July);
and
• FOP — 1.75%
• IAFF — 1.75%
• AFSCME — 1.5 %
• Non -Bargaining Employees — 1.75%
• As well as Fire and Police Step Increases; and
WHEREAS, the Position and Pay Schedule table items recommended by Dr. Victoria
McGrath in the Compensation Study that are specifically addressed on Personnel Actions including:
• Recommended pay increases from Dr. Victoria McGrath Compensation on position
within the pay grade based on time in position, performance and available funds
• Removing car allowance as an add on pay and moving it to salary where appropriate
• Adjusted two employees from 37.5 hour week to 40 hour week as recommended
• Adjustments were made to alleviate compression in Police and Fire; and
WHEREAS, the reorganization of the Fire/Inspections department accounts for several
recommended changes in title/duty; and
Promotion Increases to those in the Fire/Inspection Department re -organization
Equity adjustments
WHEREAS, also included is table clean-up/audit necessary to reflect the correct number of
vacant and filled positions. Changes include the following:
• The Department of Inspections, for budget purposes, has been moved to the Fire
Department. All Inspection positions now listed under Fire Department section of
the table, as the Fire Prevention Division.
• Abolish one Records Clerk I position in Police Department effective 6/28/2012.
• Abolish one Administrative Assistant II position in Police Department effective
8/1/2012.
• Abolish one Code Enforcement Assistant in Fire Prevention Division (previously in
Inspections)
• Abolish Director of Inspection position
• Added one Deputy Building Inspector Level II vacancy
• Merit and or Equity adjustments in other departments
• Fire and Police Step Increases; and
WHEREAS, in order to implement the changes it is necessary to adopt the FY2011-2012
Position and Pay Schedule.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby approves and adopts the FY2012-2013
Position and Pay Schedule for the employees of the City of Paducah as attached hereto.
SECTION 2. That the FY2012-2013 Position and Pay Schedule wage adjustments approved
in Section 1 above shall become effective June 28, 2012 for the July 20, 2012 pay
SECTION 3. This Order will be in full force and effect from an4 after the dgte of its
adoption.
