ROLL CALL
At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held at 600
p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 1996, in the Commission Chambers at
City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, Mayor Jones presided, and upon
call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to
their names: Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro
and Mayor Jones (5).
R & F NOTICES
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner
Grumley, that the Notices of Called Meeting for 6:00 p.m.,
October 15, 1996, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro
and Mayor Jones. (5).
SET FY x/97 TAX RATE
Commissioner Renfro offered motion, seconded by Commissioner
Grumley, that the Board of Commissioners introduce an ordinance /
entitled, "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE LEVIES AND RATES OF TAXATION
ON ALL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, SUBJECT TO
TAXATION FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES FOR THE
PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 1996, THROUGH JUNE 30, 1997, WITH THE PURPOSES
OF SAID TAXES THEREUNDER DEFINED".
Setting the 1996-97 Tax Rate as follows:
PURPOSE RATE PER $100.00
General Fund of the City
Real Property $0.327
Personal Property 0.390
Other Municipal Purposes
Public Library
Real Estate 0.043
Personal Property 0.050
SCHOOL PURPOSES
Paducah Junior College
Real Estate 0.032
Personal Property 0.034
Total Tax Rate per $100 - real property 0.402
Total Tax Rate per $100 - personal property 0.474
The City of Paducah shall collect the following taxes for
the Board of Education:
Public School - General Fund & FSPK Property
Real Property 0.594
Personal Property 0.604
Property taxes levied herein shall be due and payable
in the following manner:
The first half payment shall be due on November 1, 1996,
and shall be payable without penalty and interest until November 30,
1996.
The Second half payment shall be due on February 1, 1997,
and shall be payable without penalty and interest until February 28,
1997.

SEWER RATE DECREASE
Mayor Jones recommended that the minimum monthly sewer rates for
premises inside the city limits be reduced from $10.00 for 4,000
gallons of water consumption to $7.50 for 3,000 gallons of water
consumption, thereby reducing the minimum sewer bill by $2.50. �\
The Commission discussed this subject. Mayor Jones instructed
the City Clerk to prepare an ordinance for the October 22 meeting
to effect these changes.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
