Home My WebLink About2011-11-7883ORDINANCE NO. 2011-11-7883 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY FOR THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF DECORATIVE STREET LIGHTS FOR INSTALLATION ALONG MARINE WAY, ADAMS STREET AND WITHIN THE NEW MARINE WAY/ADAMS STREET PUBLIC PARKING LOT AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR SAID PURCHASE WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Ordinance No. 2010-6-7693, approving a Memorandum of Understanding with Paducah & Louisville Railway, Inc., for economic incentives in conjunction with P & L's construction of a new corporate headquarters and office building in the downtown area between Clark Street and Marine Way; and WHEREAS, in order to facilitate this commitment, it is necessary to purchase decorative street lighting to be installed along Marine Way, Adams Street and within the new Marine Way/Adams Street Public Parking Lot; and WHEREAS, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that this will be a sole source purchase pursuant to Sec. 2-659(2) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, due to the necessity of the decorative street lighting fixtures being identical to the surrounding fixtures. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Finance Director to make payment to Hannan Supply in the amount of $43,788.20, for purchase of eleven (11) "Solitaire" decorative street light fixtures to be installed along Marine Way, Adams Street and within the Marine Way/Adams Street public parking lot. SECTION 2. That the Finance Director is hereby authorized to transfer $63,000 from the Investment Fund Economic Development Reserve to Project Account EDO112 to cover the expenses for the purchase of the decorative street lighting. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. TTEST: Tammara S.
