At a Joint Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners and the McCracken County Fiscal
Court, held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 1995,
Mayor Montgomery presided, and upon call of the roll by the Assistant City Clerk, the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor
Montgomery (5). Upon call of the roll, by the County Judge, the following answered to their
names: Commissioners McNeil, Cope and County Judge Orazine (3). Commissioner Bradford
was absent (1).
The following items were discussed:
USE OF CITY JAIL FOR JUVENILE HOLDING
The architect, Curt Flannery, is waiting to hear from the State for any changes that will be
required in the jail. He could not give a cost estimate to the City or County due to waiting for a
reply from the State. The Mayor requested that the City be able to review the plans for the jail as
soon as the architect hears from the State.
Jonathan Hines, Facility Maintenance Supervisor, submitted a summary of expenses to the Boards
for the moving of the documents located in the jail. City Clerk did not receive a copy.
MEMORANDUM OF LEASE FOR USE OF CITY JAIL
The City Manager distributed a revised copy of the Memorandum of Lease Agreement that the
County Attorney had prepared. Of the revisions suggested by the City, Item 4 regarding utility
cost was discussed. The City suggested that the revision to be implemented in the lease would be
for the County to pay pro rata on a square foot occupied basis. The County Judge said the
suggested changes looked satisfactory but wanted the County Attorney to review the revised
document. He will notify the City when the document is ready.
COMMUNICATIONS REPORT
A joint telephone system was discussed between the City and County.
Upon motion the meeting was adjourned.
