AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BY INTENT TO RE -ANNEX CERTAIN PROPERTY
LYING ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE
INCLUDED WITHIN THE SAID CORPORATE LIMITS
WHEREAS, a certain tract of land adjacent to the present city limits,
located generally between the low water mark of the Ohio River along the City's present
boundary (which boundary runs from Washington Street to Campbell Street, if extended)
to the thread of the Ohio River, is urban in character and suitable for development for
urban purposes without unreasonable delay; and
WHEREAS, the land is contiguous to the present corporate limits of the
City, and it is desirable and necessary to re -annex the hereinafter described property; and
WHEREAS, said tract of land is not within the boundary of another
incorporated city.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to re -annex
the hereinafter described property, and therefore that the hereinafter described property
be re -annexed to, and be made a part of the City of Paducah, Kentucky said real property
being more particularly and accurately described as follows:
The navigable waters of the Ohio River between the southern bank and
the thread of the stream, north of the City of Paducah between the
extension of the eastern right of way line of Washington Street and the
eastern property line of the Jim Smith Contracting Company, LLC
property as described in Deed Book 1168, Page 27, and recorded in the
office of the McCracken County Court Clerk, and being part of the lands
of the Additions to the City of Paducah of 1871, and being part of the
lands of the De -Annexation by the City of Paducah City Ordinance of
June 26, 1946, and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the north line of Paducah Old Town dated
1830,on the south bank of the Ohio River in the 302 contour line (the
302 contour line also being the eastern boundary of the existing City
Limits and previously described by the De -Annexation Ordinance adopted
on June 24, 1946 as the "pool -line on the south bank of the Ohio
River") as located by survey on August 7, 2007 at the intersection with
the eastern line of Washington Street if extended, said point having
Kentucky State Plane South Zone coordinates of North = 1,927,074.13 and
East = 811,495.36;
Thence, from the point of beginning and with chords approximating the
302 contour line of the said south bank of the Ohio River as follows:
North 15° 34' 08" West a distance of 96.30 feet to a point;
North 16° 20' 44" West a distance of•334.35 feet to a point;
North 27° 26' 07" West a distance of 467.19 feet to a point;
North 39° 04' 53" West a distance of 293.11 feet to a point;
North 41° 21' 35" West a distance of 564.34 feet to a point;
North 29° 26' 31" West a distance of 185.32 feet to a point;
North 50° 01' 13" West a distance of 786.57 feet to a point;
North 52° 06' 03" West a distance of 445.51 feet to a point;
North 500 44' 21" West a distance of 609.82 feet to a point;
North 55° 53' 27" West a distance of 503.98 feet to a point; and
North 49° 42' 03" West a distance of 533.60 feet to the intersection
of the said south bank of the Ohio River in the 302 contour line as
located by survey on August 7, 2007 and the eastern property line of
the aforementioned Jim Smith Contracting Company, LLC property;
Thence, with the said eastern property line of the Jim Smith
Contracting Company, LLC property, in a northeasterly direction across
the Ohio River,
North 32°06115" East a distance of 1979.09 feet to a point in the
thread of the stream of the Ohio River (the line midway between banks
or the line equidistant from the edge of the water on the two sides of
the stream at the ordinary stage of the water, in the Ohio River this
ordinary stage of water is the 302 elevation);
Thence, with chords subtending the meanders of the thread of the stream
of the Ohio River as follows:
South 44° 49' 56" East a distance of 799.89 feet to a point;
South 440 27' 46" East a distance of 1072.55 feet to a point;
South 430 12' 48" East a distance of 1380.24 feet to a point;
South 40° 06' 04" East a distance of 1295.64 feet to a point; and
South 450 31' 56" East a distance of 1310.47 feet to a point;
Thence, leaving the thread of the stream of the Ohio River and in a
southwesterly direction, South 640 58' 44" West a distance of 2038.57
feet back to the point of beginning.
The above description encompasses the navigable waters of the Ohio
River with an area of 208.7005 acres more or less.
The above description has been prepared as the result of an actual
survey performed between May 5, 2007 and August 8, 2007. All bearings
referred to are based on the Kentucky State Plane South Zone (NAD
1983).
