HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-05-2016401 JANUARY 5, 2016 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at 5:30 p.m., in the Commission Chambers of City Hall located at 300 South 5th Street, Mayor Kaler presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Abraham, Gault, Rhodes, Wilson and Mayor Kaler (5). APPOINTMENT HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMISSION Mayor Kaler made the following appointment: "WHEREAS, I move that the Board of Commissioners appoint Keith Petraitis as a member of the Historical and Architectural Review Commission to fill the unexpired term of Louis Lovera who has resigned. This term will expire June 4, 2016." Commissioner Abraham offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Gault, that the Board of Commissioners approve the recommendation of Mayor Kaler in appointing Keith Petraitis as a member of the Historical and Architectural Review Commission. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Gault, Rhodes, Wilson and Mayor Kaler (5). MUNICIPAL ORDERS PERSONNEL CHANGES Commissioner Rhodes offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Wilson, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah order that the personnel changes on the attached list be approved. M.O.#1878; BK 9 ESTABLISH ACCOUNT WITH FREEDOM WASTE SERVICE FOR THE HANDLING AND DISPOSAL OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE Commissioner Abraham offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Gault, that a Municipal Order entitled, "A MUNICIPAL ORDER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ACCOUNT WITH FREEDOM WASTE SERVICE, LLC FOR THE HANDLING AND DISPOSAL OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE," be adopted. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Gault, Rhodes, Wilson, and Mayor Kaler (5). M.O.#1879; BK 9 CITY MANAGER REPORT • Mr. Pederson announced the new drop point location for recyclables will be at 920 Burnett Street. It will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. This is a temporary drop point until a new transfer station is constructed. The previous contract for solid waste services expired December 31, 2015. The City is negotiating with a new provider. • He asked the Board if they could do a retreat on the first Saturday in February to review City projects and work through a method of prioritizing them. Discussions on project funding also will be held. MAYOR & COMMISSIONER COMMENTS None were given. PUBLIC COMMENTS None were given. Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
