HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-2-7787ORDINANCE NO. 2011-2-7787 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF RAY BLACK & SON, INC, FOR PHASE II DEMOLITION EXECUTIVE INN, CONVENTION CENTER WALL RESTORATION PROJECT AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PADUCAH RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME WHEREAS, the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority, was tasked with overseeing the "Request for Bids, Phase It, Convention Center Wall Restoration Project", and to make a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah to accept the lowest and best bidder; and WHEREAS, the Authority at a meeting held on February 10, 2011, adopted a resolution selecting the proposal of Ray Black & Son, Inc, as the most responsive lowest and best bidder and presented original bids to the City Clerk's Office to be received and filed. WHEREAS, the City now desires to accept the recommendation of PRDA and authorize the execution of the contract for the Phase II Project. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That a resolution adopted by the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority on February 10, 2011, entitled, "A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE SELECTION OF "RAY BLACK AND SON, INC" TO THE MAYOR AND CITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE PHASE 11, CONVENTION CENTER WALL RESTORATION PROJECT LOCATED AT ONE EXECUTIVE BLVD, IN DOWNTOWN PADUCAH", be approved as the recommendation of Paducah Riverfront Development Authority and respecting the matters set forth therein. SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of Ray Black & Son, Inc., for Phase II, Demolition Executive Inn, Convention Center Restoration Project, as reviewed by Paducah Riverfront Development Authority in an amount not to exceed $875,500. Said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications, and as contained in the bid of Ray Black & Son, Inc., dated February 8, 2011. SECTION 3. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute a contract with Ray Black & Son, for the Phase II, Convention Center Wall Restoration Project authorized in Section 2 above, according to the specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore reviewed and recommended by the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority and incorporated in the bid. SECTION 4. All expenditures for the project will be charged to Project Account DT0024. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication according to KRS Chapter 424. A TEST: cj� Tammara S.
