HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-7-7706ORDINANCE NO. 2010-7-7706 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF PADUCAH RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, ACCEPTING THE BID OF YOUNGBLOOD EXCAVATING AND CONTRACTING, LLC FOR THE BUILDING, DEMOLITION & LIQUIDATION OF THE EXECUTIVE INN RIVERFRONT HOTEL -PHASE I PROJECT; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME WHEREAS, the City of Paducah Board of Commissioners directed the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority (PRDA) to review bids for the Building, Demolition & Liquidation Phase Liquidation of the Executive Inn Riverfront Hotel -Phase I Project and make a recommendation; and WHEREAS, PRDA has reviewed bids received on June 24, 2010 and is recommending the City accept the bid of PRC Environmental and Youngblood Contracting and Excavating, LLC; and WHEREAS, PRC Environmental requested the City contract with them or Youngblood and the other would serve as a subcontractor to the other; and WHEREAS, the City now desires to accept the recommendation of PRDA and authorize the execution of the contract for the Project. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That a resolution adopted by the Paducah Riverfront Development Authority on July 1, 2010 entitled, "A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE SELECTION OF "PRC ENVIRONMENTAL AND YEC, LLC" TO THE MAYOR AND CITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE LIQUIDATION AND DEMOLITION OF THE EXECUTIVE INN HOTEL LOCATED AT ONE EXECUTIVE BLVD, IN DOWNTOWN PADUCAH," be approved as the recommendation of said Authority respecting the matters set forth therein. SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of PRC Environmental and Youngblood Excavating and Contracting, LLC in an amount not to exceed $217,000, for the Building, Demolition & Liquidation of the Executive Inn Riverfront Hotel -Phase I Project, said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications, and as contained in the bid of PRC Environmental and Youngblood Excavating and Contracting, LLC, dated July 24, 2010. SECTION 3. That the City approves the contract and general conditions with Youngblood, LLC for the Building, Demolition and Liquidation of the Executive Inn Riverfront Hotel -Phase I Project. SECTION 4. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with Youngblood Excavating and Contracting, LLC for the Building, Demolition & Liquidation for the Executive Inn Riverfront Hotel -Phase I Project, authorized in Section 3 above, according to the specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid. SECTION 5. Expenditures for this project will be processed through DT0024 project account. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. A TEST: ' 8""J, Tammara S.
