A RESOLUTION AUTHORI7ING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT WORK KNOWN AS PHASE II OF THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT STREET IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for street improvement work in the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
known as Phase II of the Community Development Street Improvement Program, said
invitation for bids to• be as follows:
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The City of Paducah, Kentucky, will receive bids for the con-
struction of P:hase".II of the :Community Development.-Street-
Improvement Program until 2: 00 P . M . , on the day of
July ; at the office of the City Manager, City-Hall, Paducah;
Kentucky, at which time all bids will be publicly opened in
the Commission Chamber ~ of City Hall and read aloud .
"The project consists of reconstruction of the section of 8th"
Street from Washington Street to Tennessee Street, Burnett
Street from 10th Street to 9th Street, Gardner Avenue` from
Finley Street to Burnett Street, 11th Street from Boyd Street
to Finley Street, and Boyd Street from Park Avenue to 11th
Street, and will include curb, gutter, sidewalk, drive aprons,
pavement, and drainage improvements .
Plans and specifications are on file at the office of the City
Engineer, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, and at the office of
The Associated General Contractors, Paducah, Kentucky. Copies
of plans and specifications may be obtained at the office of the
City Engineer . A deposit- of $50.00 '-will. be ,.required for each "
set of documents obtained . The deposits of all those returning
usable plans and specifications within tenr_(~10) daysafter th:e ~ "
bid opening will be refunded in full. Those not returning
the documents within this period of time or returning unusable
documents shall forfeit their full deposit .
A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and acceptable
sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5) of the bid
shall be submitted with each bid .
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for
satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment
Bond -each in the amount of one hundred percent (100 0) of the
Contract .
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum
salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must
be paid on this project .
The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for
employment are not discriminated against because of their race,
color, religion, sex or national origin . Since Federal Housing
and Urban Development (Community Development) Funds are

being used for this project, the Contractor must comply with all ,/``
requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development i
Act' of "'1908 ':and` ExecutiveO'rder' 11246 .

The :City ofPaducah reserves the right to reject'ariy' or all bids
or waive any informalities in the bidding . No bid shall be with-
