CIRCUSES OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 17-75, Circuses, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sections shall hereinafter read as follows: "Sec. 17-75. Circuses and Carnivals. Any person owning, operating or managing a circus or carnival exhibiting within . the city' shall "pay . a license tax under Schedule F of section 17-57, except that there shall be paid in advance the sum of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for each day of operation, and the sum of thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents ($37.50) for each day a sideshow. making a - separate admission charge is operated., for all of which credit shall be allowed against the amount of license tax under Schedule F If a circus; or carnival exhibiting outside the city unloads any of its animals, paraphernalia, equipment or supplies within the city, an unloading,- license tax of two -hundred and twenty-five dollars ($225:00) shall be paid, which shall include the privilege of holding one parade, but no cirucs or carnival. shall be permitted -to load or" unload upon the city streets or to conduct a parade thereon until the owner, agent, manager or proprietor -of -such circus or carnival shall have 'executed to the city an indemnifying bond, with surety approved by the mayor, and under which such circus or carnival owner, agent, manager or proprietor shall agree to indemnify the city., against any and all damages to its streets, or any other damage which might result on account of the loading and unloading of circus: -or carnival animals, paraphernalia and equipmnet, or as a result of conducting a parade on the streets of the city. In no event shall a license be issued to any circus or carnival owner, agent, manager or proprietor for unloading and loading or for conducting a parade within the city until the consent of the mayor has been obtained. Every applicant for a license referred to herein shall, before the license is granted, file :with .the city license inspector,' a cash .. ' bond in the amount of one hundred dollars ($100.00) which shall be fully refundable upon proof that, -the licensee rhas`-.cau:sed to be removed all temporary signs that may have been displayed in advertisement of the said circus or carnival. Temporary signs as referred to herein shall include any sign, banner, pennant, or advertising display constructed of cloth, canvas, light frabic, card- board, wallboard, or other light materials, with or without frames, intended to be displayed for a short period of time only. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
