ORDINANCE NO. 77-2-1378
AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY ALTERING WORKING HOURS FOR THOSE
EMPLOYEES DESIGNATED BY THE MAYOR
WHEREAS, extreme and prolonged weather conditions existing in the
Commonwealth of Kentucky have caused Governor Julian M. Carroll to make an
appeal to all public and private employers to take temporary measures to aid
in conserving energy and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky
desires to assist in the said energy conservation' measures while still retaining
essential governmental services and,
WHEREAS, it is therefore deemed advisable that the City of Paducah,
Kentucky cooperate with the state and county and alter the working hours of certain
city offices in order to practice energy conservation during the aforesaid extreme
weather conditions.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized, to temporarily
alter the normal working hours, in the manner he deems advisable, for any City
offices and/or employees that he shall designate and for such periods of time as he
shall deem advisable.
SECTION 2. That the temporary altering of the normal working hours for
certain city offices and/or employees shall be done by the Mayor in such a manner
as to retain essential governmental services while practicing, insofar as possible,
energy conservation measures.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its adoption.
