A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE I OF THE INDUSTRIAL PARK SEWER
EXTENSION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SEC'TIO'N 1: -That the City Manager be; and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for -bids for the construction of Phase I of the Industrial Park Sewer
Extension, said advertisement to be in words and figures as fellows:
"RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS: The City of Paducah, Kentucky will receive
bids for the construction of Phase I of the Industrial Park Sewer Extension until
2: 00 P . M . , on the 16th day of February at the office of the City Engineer , City
Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time all bids will be publicly opened in the
Commission Chamber of City Hall and read aloud .
PROJECT: The project consists of construction of a section of
sanitary sewer along Coleman Road and the Industrial Park Access Road, and
shall include construction of man-holes, gravity flow sewer line, force main line,
and a pump station .
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Plans and specifications are on file
at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, and at the office
of the Associated General Contractors, Paducah, Kentucky. Copies of plans and
specifications may be obtained at the office of the City Engineer . A deposit of
$50.00 will be required for each set of documents obtained . The deposits of all
those returning usable plans will be refunded in full. Those not returning the
documents within this period of time or returning unusable documents shall
forfeit their full deposit .
PROPOSAL GUARANTY: A Satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder
and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall
be submitted with each bid .
PERFORMANCE BOND AND LABOR AND MATERIAL BOND: The success-
ful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance Bond
and Labor and Material Payment Bond -each in the amount of one hundred per-
cent (100 0) of the Contract .
WAGE RATES: Attention is called to the fact that not less than the
minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid
on this project .
EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: The Contractor must ensure that
employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because
of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The City of Paducah reserves the right to
reject any or all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be
withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids with-
out the consent of the City of Paducah . "
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in

the Sun-Democrat to be published as required by law . All bids shall be sealed

and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the. opening
of same . All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the open-
ing of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the
right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not. become legally obligated
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after the 'date of its adoption .
