ORDINANCE NO. 87-11-1348
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-36 "CHARGE FOR OPENING AND
CLOSING GRAVES; OTHER CEMETERY SERVICES" , OF ARTICLE III, OAK GROVE
CEMETERY GENERALLY, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF' PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 8-36 "Charge for opening and closing graves;
other cemetery services" , of Article' III, Oak Grove Cemetery Generally, of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, 'shall be amended and` reordained
so that said section shall hereinafter read as follows:
"Sec . 8-36 . Charge for opening and closing graves; other cemetery
services; deposit .
The charge for opening and closing of graves, for the use of the
receiving vault, and other cemetery services shall be as follows:
BURIAL PERMIT FOR OPENING GRAVES
Weekdays and after 1: 00 p . m . Monday .
Box or vault for adult 85.00
Child's or other grave under 6 feet 60.00
Cremains, (without tent and chairs) 25.00
Cremains, (with tent and chairs) 40.00
Saturdays and before 1 p . m . Monday
Any grave 110.00
Cremains (with or without tent and chairs) 75.00
Sundays, holidays and before 1 p .m . on any day
following a holiday
Any grave 150.00
Cremains (with or without tent and chairs) 75.00
MAUSOLEUM PRIVATELY OWNED
Burial permits in privately owned mausoleums shall be $40.00 on weekdays
and $60.00 on Sundays and holidays .
The charges for use of the receiving vault pending burial for the first
month, or part thereof shall be

For any period of time in excess of the first month, the charge per

ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Sodding grave or grave lot, other than replacing
available sod following grave opening 12.00
Setting government markers 20.00
Placing or erecting foundations for grave slabs 35.00
A11 monument foundations will be poured by the
cemetery department at a per square foot cost of 10.00
All additional services such as the planting,
relocating or removing of trees or shurbs, the
construction or removal of curbs, and such
services shall b.e at actual cost or at designated
rates to be prescribed and determined by the
cemetery department superintendent.: ~:
The owner of any lot, a member of the owner's immediate family or his
next of kin, or the funeral director, must sign an order for any work required to
be performed on such lot and in the case of grave openings the order must contain
a description or diagram locating the place on the lot for the opening. The person
executing the aforesaid work order must also deposit with the superintendent of
Oak Grove Cemetery the sum of $100.00 to insure the placement of a marker or
monument at the grave site. The deposit shall be fully refundable if a marker or
monument is erected within 90 days after burial. In the event the monument or
marker has not been erected within 90 days after burial the superintendent of the
Oak Grove Cemetery shall cause to be erected a permanent type marker or monu-
went to be paid for out of the aforesaid deposit. Any sums not actually expended
shall be refunded to the party executing the work order" .
SECTION 2. This ordinance amends a portion of Ordinance No. 76-5-1265,
passed by the Board of Commissioners May 11, 1976.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption .
