ORDINANCE NO : 76-3-1243
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
BY ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE EAST CORPORATE
LIMITS OF THE CITY", AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID
PROPERTY 'TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN SAID CORPORATE LIMITS
WHEREAS, on November 23, 1971,: the Board of C-ommissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky; passed an ordinance proposing annexation of the property
hereinafter described , and -
WHEREAS , residents and freeholders of the.. ter--ritory to be annexed
-filed a remonstrance suit in the McCracken Circuit Court, Civil Action No. 11394, and
WHEREAS , the McCracken Circuit Court °on" March 16, 1976 , entered it's
judgment which sustained the action of the City of Paducah in the-aforesaid annexation
action , and
WHEREAS , a certified copy of the aforesaid judgment has-been presented
to the Board of Commissioners of the- Cty~of Paducah, Kentucky; Eby the McCracken
Circuit `Court" Clerk. -
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described. property be annexed` to , and
made a part~of, the City of Paducah, Kentucky; the said real property being more
particularly and accurately described as follows:
.`Beginning at a point where the present easterly~cty limits intersects
the northeasterly right-of-way line of the Paducah Floodwall; thence
. , in a southeasterly and southerly directon'twith° aid floodwall~right-
of-way and the floodwall right-of-way if extended to the southerly
right-of-way line of the Beltline Highway;- thence with the -southerly
line of said Highway to the west line of Arizona Street; thence in a
southerly direction with said west line of Arizona Street to the- north
right-of-way line of the I . C . R . R . ; thence with the right-of-way of
the I . C . R . R . in a northwesterly direction to the present- city -limits'
at the Benton Road; thence with said city limits line in a northeasterly,
easterly and northeasterly- direction to the point of beginning .. ~~ ~: "
' "t SECTION 2. This ordinance of annexation shall be published in accordance
with the provisions of KRS Chapter' 424 and upon final publication the territory described
above shall become a part of the City of Paducah, Kentucky for all purposes.
