HomeMy WebLinkAboutConstruction of Fencing and Backstops at Little League Fields76 J A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FENCING AND BACKSTOPS AT THE LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL FIELDS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF 'COMIVIISSTONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY: -SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of fencing and backstops at the Little League Baseball fields, said advertisement for bids to be as follows: RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS " The City of Paducah will receive bids for construction of Fencing and Backstops, located at Barkley Park in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, until 10 a.m. April 8, 1976 at the-City Commission Chambers, City of Paducah, Kentucky, at which time all bids shall be opened and read aloud. PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project consists of Fencing and Backstops at the Little League Baseball fields . OBTAINING CONTRACT .DOCUMENTS Proposed forms, contract document, including plans -and specifications are on file at the office of the City Engineer , City Hall , Paducah , Kentucky . PROPOSAL GUARANTY A satisfactory bid' bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to 5 0 of the bid shall be submitted with each proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bonds . WAGE RATES Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages, as set forth in the specifications must be paid on this project. OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty days subsequent to the opening of bids without written consent of the Owner. J . William Howerton _ City Manager SECTION 2 . The City .Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant ~to KRS Chapter 424. No bids shall be opened within ten days from .the date on which the resolution is adopted , and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids . All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder . The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3.
