That Sub-sections (a) , (b) , (c) , (d) , (e) , (f) , (g) , (h) and (j) of Section 12-19 "Number, rank and salaries of members", of Article II "Fire Department" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah , Kentucky , be amended and reordained so that same as amended .and reordained shall hereafter- read as follows: "Sec . 12-19 . Number , rank and salaries of members. (a) The number and rank of the members of the fire department of the city and their monthly salaries, provided such salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Number of Positions Chief Assistant Chief Captain-training officer Chief Mechanic. Inspector Firefighter '"(assistant inspector) Captains Lieutenants Fir'efight`ers 1 4 1 1 1 1 21 21 , , 42 Base Monthly Salary 1,375.00 1,072.00 924.00 924.00 863.OU 687.00 Base Hourly Rate 3.1.25 2.914 2:296 (b) The assistant chiefs shall be paid at the rate of $1, 072.00. per month until such time as they have completed 17 years of service with the city; at the expiration of 17 years of service they shall be paid at the rate of $1,078.00 per month; at the expiration of 20 years of service they shall be paid at the rate of $1, 083.00 per month, and at the expiration of 25 years of service they shall be paid at the rate of $1, 089.00 per month . (c) Captain-training officer shall be paid at the rate of $924.00 per month until he has served with the city for 14 years; at the expiration of 14 years he shall be paid at the rate of $929.00 per month; at the expiration of 17 years he shall be paid at 55 the rate of $935.00 per month; at the expiration 'of 20 years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $94O,.OU per month, and at'tYie expiration'of ~25 years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $946.00 per month. (d) Chief mechanic shall be paid at the same rate per month as provided for the captain-training officer (e) The inspector shall be paid at the- rate of $863.00 per month for all service through. 11 years with the city; at the expiration of 11 years the =rate of pay shall be $869.00 per month; `at the expiration of 14 years of service the rate of pay shall be $874.00 per month; at°the expiration of 17 years of service, an'd for all service there- after , the rate of pay shall be $880.00 per- month . (f) A captain shall be paid at the rate of $3.125 p.er hour until he has served with the -city for 14 years; at the -expiration of 14 years he shall be paid at the rate of $3.14.5 per hour; at the- expiration of 17 years he shall be paid at the. rate of $3.164 per hour; at the expiration of 20 years-he shall be paid at the rate of $3:183 per hour and at the expiration of 25 years' he shall be paid at the rate of $3.202 per hour . (g) Lieutenants shall, be paid. at the rate of $2..914 per hour for all service through 11 years with the city; at the expiration of 11 years the rate of pay shall be $2.933 per hour; at the expiration of 14 years of service the rate of pay shall be $2.952 per hour;. at the expiration of 17 years and for all service thereafter the rate of pay shall be $2.971 per. hour . (h) Firefighters shall be paid at the rate of $2.296 per hour for the first 6 months; at the expiration of 6 months of service with the city the rate of pay shall be $2.527 per hour; at the end of 1 year of service the rate of pay shall be $2.604 per hour; for all service between the 3rd and 5th year the rate of pay shall be $2.692 per hour; for service between the 5th and 8th years the rate of pay shall be $2.721 per hour; for all service between the 8th and 11th years the rate of pay shall be $2.750 per hour, and for all service beyond the 11th year the rate of pay shall be $2.779 per hour . (j) Firefighter (assistant inspector) shall be paid at the rate of $687.00 per month for the first 6 months; at the expiration of 6 months of service with the city the rate of pay shall be $753.00 per month; at the end of 1 year of service the rate of pay shall be $775.00 per month; for all service between the 3rd and 5th years the rate of pay shall be $800.Ob per month; for service between the 5th and 8th years the rate of pay shall be $808.00 per month; for service between the 8th and 11th years the rate of pay shall be $817.00 per month, and for all service beyond the 11th year the rate of pay shall be $825.00 per month." 56 SECTION 2. That sub=section (i) of Section 12-19 "Number, rank and salaries of members" of Article II "Fire Department" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky , be , and the same is hereby, repealed . SECTION 3. In the event KRS Chapter 377, as amended by House Bill 477 of the 1974 Acts of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky , sha1T be construed by a court of competent jurisdiction and/or Commonwealth of Kentucky -Department of Labor to fix a rate of compensation greater than that as fixed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky in Ordinance No. 74-6-990, then i'n that event this ordinance and Ordnance'No. 74-12-1013 shall be construed as a credit against any such compensation as so construed, and not in any manner as a supplement thereto . , SECTION 4. This ordinance amends an ordinance originally adopted on December 11, 1951 and last amended by Ordinance No. 75-2-1078 adopted Febr-uary 4, 1975 and Ordinance No. 75-12-1206 adopted December 16, 1975. SECTION 5.
