ORDINANCE NO. -80-5-190
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE TRANSIT AUTHORITY OF PADUCAH AS
AGENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR ALL PURPOSES CONTAINED UNDER THE
URBAN MASS TRANSIT ACT, SECTION 18 GRANT, AND TRANSFERRING MONIES
RECEIVED UNDER THESE GRANTS TO THE TRANSIT AUTHORITY OF PADUCAH
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has applied for and received Mass Transit
Grants from the state of Kentucky and the United States Government, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has created the Transit Authority of
Paducah, and
WHEREAS, said Transit Authority is now functioning and operating, and
WHEREAS, the Transit Authority of Paducah has advertised for and
received bids on the purchase of busses for "operating a bus system within Paducah,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has received grants from the state of
Kentucky for the purchase of busses and to defray operating expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Transit Authority of Paducah be, and it is hereby,
designated as the Agent of the City of Paducah to carry out the terms and con-
ditions of the Urban Mass Transit Act, Section 18 Grant.
SECTION 2. The Transit Authority of Paducah is authorized to receive
the sum of $296,212.00 on behalf of the City of Paducah, from the Commonwealth
of Kentucky and the United States Government under the Mass Transit Grant
application.
SECTION 3. The City Manager and City ;Treasurer are authorized and
directed to transfer the balance of Account No. 8084, revenue sharing, to the
Transit Authority for their use in matching funds for equipment purchase and
operating expenses of the Transit Authority.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption.
