ORDINANCE NO. 80-2-1866
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 29, TAXATION, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO CONFORM THE CODE, TO PRESENT
LANGUAGE USED IN THE KENTUCKY REVISED STATUTES, AND REPEAL DUTIES
OF ASSESSOR AND BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes, Chapter 92, have been revised
by the Kentucky Legislature, and
WHEREAS, the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah does .not conform
with the language presently used in the Kentucky Revised Statutes, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has tax assessments and equalization per-
formed by the McCracken County Property Valuation Administrator.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sub -section (c) of Section 29-1.1. sale of. delinquent taxes,
be, and it is hereby, amended to read as follows:
"Sub -section (c) The sale of tax claims against delinquent tax payers
shall be made by the City Treasurer on the first Monday in August
following the preceeding fiscal year, or as soon thereafter as practicable,
but in other respect to comply with KRS 92.670 through KRS 92.678".
SECTION 2. That the following Sections of Chapter 29 be, _and _they are
hereby repealed: 29-3, when and where property to be listed and assessed; closing
of assessment books; 29-4, Employment of special deputies to list property; 29-5,
securing assessment lists when taxpayer fails to ,appear in person; 29-6, failure
to supply assessor with list of property and value thereon; 29-7, advance payments
on unmatured tax bills generally; 29-8, no discount for advance payment of taxes; .
29-21 through 29-26.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its adoption.
